Common Mistakes You Make While Travelling

It is common to make a few careless mistakes when people traveling and exploring the unknown.  But sometimes these mistakes can turn your trip into a disappointing and money wasting experience. So, here are some, most common travel mistakes which you can avoid to make your trip stress free and also by avoiding these mistakes you can save your lot of time.

Over Packing

Most airlines charge for the weight of your luggage, so try to keep everything simple. Pack only what you need and know you’ll use, not what you think you’ll use. Buy the rest at your destination. Once you are done with your packing review everything you have and try to reduce the load a little bit more.

Relying on the Tour Book

Tour books are made to inform your travels, not to define them.  Put the Tour book down and interact with other travelers and people at the destination.  Allow yourself to explore and use on your own initiative, there is a lot more to a place than what is in any guidebook. Go and walked the streets at night and just explored them. It was the best feeling to just find your way and discover things using a simple map. Sometimes there are things other than the monuments to see.

Not Learning the Currency

This one is simple but so many people forget it. Learn the exchange rate and currency before you leave. This will save you from making expensive mistakes (like paying way too much for a service or goods.)

Giving Up On Trying a New Language

Most people appreciate when you try to speak their language. You may not be a professional at it, but that is okay. It is better than being that person that automatically assumes everyone understands English. We're not telling you to become fluent in another language, but learning a few basics will get you a long way when traveling. Learn the important phrases, like greetings, directions and a few questions, like where the hospital is, where the bathrooms are and how much does this cost. This will make it easier for you to communicate with new peoples.

Being Late

International flights require a little more time at the airport than regular flights, so Book Cheap Domestic Flights South Africa by which you get to the airport no later than two hours before your flight rather than the single hour allotted for domestic flights.
